Short description of speciality

Ministerial decree 44/2016. (XI. 28.) NGM transposing requirements both of 2014/68/EU PED directive concerning  of pressure equipement and 2014/29/EU SPVD directive concerning of simple pressure vessels.

The scope of NGM Ministerial decree  covers the design, manufacture, conformity assessment and distribution and import trough by natural and legal persons of pressure equipment, assemblies and simple pressure vessels with a maximum allowable pressure (PS) exceeding 0.5 bar.

Pressure equipment means vessels, piping, safety accessories and pressure accessories, including, where applicable, elements attached to pressurised parts.

Assemblies means several pieces of pressure equipment assembled by a manufacturer to constitute an integrated and functional whole.

Simple pressure vessel means any in series manufactured, welded vessel:

- subjected to an internal gauge pressure greater than 0,5 bar and to contain air or nitrogen and which is not intended to be fired.
- the parts and assemblies contributing to the strength of the vessel under pressure shall be made either of non-alloy quality steel or of non-alloy aluminium or non-age hardening aluminium alloys.
- the vessel shall be made of either:
- a cylindrical part of circular cross-section closed by inwardly dished and/or flat ends which revolve around the same axis as the cylindrical part; or
- two dished ends revolving around the same axis.
- the maximum working pressure of the vessel shall not exceed 30 bar and the product of that pressure and the capacity of the vessel (PS x V) shall not exceed 10 000 bar x l.
- the minimum working temperature must be no lower than – 50 °C and the maximum working temperature must not be higher than 300 °C for steel and 100 °C for aluminium or aluminium alloy vessels.

The NGM decree determines the products under the scope of the decree, the technical requirements, the essential safety requirements, the conditions and procedures of the conformity assessment both for the pressure equipment and the simple pressure vessels, and the common rules.
