Type approval 

In Hungary the type approval is one of the tasks of the Metrology Authority. The aim of the type approval is to make the decision whether the compulsory verification measuring instruments under the control of the national regulations comply with the metrological requirements. The metrological requirements are defined by acts and the verification procedures of MKEH. Technical contents of them (maximum permissible errors, methods of measurements etc.) are harmonised with the relevant MSZ, EU (CENELEC), ISO and IEC standards. During the type approval it is possible to accept results of those measurements which were carried out in accredited laboratories independent from the manufacturer. The maximum duration of the type approval and — in case of positive result of the type approval — the issue of the type approval certificate is two months.

With serially manufactured measuring instruments, it shall be ensured by verification that each instrument fulfils all requirements. laid down in the approval procedure. The verification has to be performed before marketing of the instruments, periodically and after repairing.
