Verification of new measuring instruments
After joining the EU, when measuring instruments subjected to mandatory verification are being placed on the market, there are three methods possible for approving the new measuring instruments:
- national initial verification (OMH or MKEH mark)
- EC verification ( e mark)
- EC assessment (CE + M mark).
The legal consequences are the same for the three approval methods:
- A measuring instrument has to be uniformly considered verified in Hungary independently of the method of its assessment.
- The approval is valid until the end of verification interval.
- Validity of the assessment is over if the sealing marks are broken or replaced.
Regional validity:
- National initial verification is valid in Hungary.
- National verification or pattern approval performed in another country is valid in the given country.
The EC verification and the EC assessment are valid in the EU-member states and in the states of the so called European Economic Area.
