Export Control Department

Roles and responsibilities:

a)      in the field of dual-use items, issuing licenses for export, transfer, transit, and brokering activities, and issuing international import certificates on the basis of related regulations; licensing the export of non dual-use items specified in international trade sanctions, controlling of exporters, importers and end-users of these products and technologies;

b)      representing and enforcing the Hungarian interest in the Council Working Group on Dual Use Items, and in the Committee Coordinating Working Group on Dual Use Items established on the basis of 428/2009/EC regulation Art. 23., and participating in the technical working groups;

c)      contacting with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), coordinating the execution of the Convention’s objectives regarding Hungary, preparing the specified declarations; participating in the technical commission of the Convention;

d)     coordinating the execution of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention’s tasks, preparing the specified declarations, controlling, participating in the technical commission of the Convention;

e)      authoritative controlling of enterprises, and participating in the monitoring activities undertaken by the OPCW in Hungary;

f)       participating on the sessions of Australia Group, Missile Technology Control Regime, Nuclear Suppliers’ Group, Zangger Committee, Wassenaar Arrangement and other technical panels.
